MOLLY AMSTERBALTIMORE DIRECTOR

Molly Amster leads the JUFJ Campaign Fund’s work in Baltimore, starting in the 2018 General Election cycle.

At our sister organization, JUFJ, she is the Director of the Baltimore branch, which she founded in 2014. She supervises the Baltimore staff and works with them and the Baltimore Leadership Council to recruit, train, and organize local Jews to help win campaigns for social, racial, and economic justice in the Baltimore area and across the state of Maryland. She also runs Baltimore’s Jeremiah Fellowship, manages partner relationships and coalitions, and works with staff and leaders to raise the funds needed to support our work in Charm City.

Before joining the JUFJ Campaign Fund, Molly worked at CHAI: Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Incorporated, in Northwest Baltimore. During her seven years at CHAI, she served on the Baltimore Education Coalition, where she organized neighborhood residents for a campaign that won one billion dollars to rebuild or renovate dozens of Baltimore City schools. She also coordinated the Community Conversations program, a Black-Jewish dialogue initiative working with adults and youth to cultivate relationships and mutual understanding.

In 2017, Molly received the Neely Tal Snyder Community Impact Award for her work in Baltimore’s Jewish communities. She is a member of Baltimore Racial Justice Action, where she facilitates workshops on dismantling white supremacy. Molly lives in Northeast Baltimore City with her two well-loved rescue dogs.

Molly uses she/her/hers pronouns.
