CHARLY CARTER

    Charly Carter currently serves as the Executive Director of the Democracy Initiative, where she is focused on coordinating the efforts of the coalition’s 75 partner organizations and 45 million members nationwide working to build a stronger, more inclusive democracy. Charly has led campaigns to end wage discrimination, give paid sick leave to 700,000 workers, and win a record $1.2 billion to rebuild some of the oldest schools in the nation. Her work in Maryland has helped to restore voting rights returning citizens and pass progressive voting laws taking money out of politics and making it easier for all citizens to vote. She holds a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Political Management and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. She resides in Baltimore City, MD.
